Standings, fixtures, results and everything you need to know about the UEFA Conference League, the newest and third tier of UEFA’s three annual club competitions, contested by 36 clubs from across the continent.
What is the UEFA Conference League?
The UEFA Conference League is the newest and third tier of UEFA’s three annual men’s club competitions, sitting below the Champions League and Europa League. UEFA launched it for the 2021/22 season to give more clubs from a wider spread of European leagues a realistic route into continental football and a genuine chance of winning a European trophy.
Like the Champions League and Europa League, the Conference League switched from a group-stage format to a single 36-club "league phase" from the 2024/25 season. There are no lettered groups. Every club plays six different opponents — three at home and three away, two fewer games than in the Champions League and Europa League, which each play eight — and all 36 clubs are ranked in one table.
In its short history the Conference League hasn’t had a repeat champion. Roma won the inaugural final in 2022, West Ham United triumphed in 2023, Olympiacos won in 2024, Chelsea in 2025, and Crystal Palace are the current holders after beating Rayo Vallecano 1-0 in the 2026 final at Red Bull Arena in Leipzig, in front of 39,176 fans.
The 2026/27 league phase is yet to begin: the first matchday is scheduled for 15 October 2026, when all 36 clubs play their Round 1 fixtures. Standings, fixtures and results on this page will update once matches have been played.

No matches have been played yet, so there’s no result-based ranking to show. Clubs are listed alphabetically until Matchday 1 (15 October 2026) is complete, after which this table will be sorted by points, then goal difference, then goals scored.
How the knockout stage works
The league phase runs from October through winter; the knockout bracket isn’t seeded yet1–8: straight to the Round of 16
The top eight clubs after all six league-phase rounds skip the play-off round entirely and go directly into the Round of 16, seeded and unseeded for the draw.
9–24: knockout phase play-offs
Clubs ranked 9th to 24th are drawn into eight two-legged play-off ties in February. The eight winners join the top eight in the Round of 16.
25–36: eliminated
The bottom twelve clubs are out of the Conference League for the season, with no parachute into another European competition from this stage.
Round of 16 onward
From the Round of 16 through the semifinals, every tie is played over two legs, home and away, on aggregate score. There’s no away-goals rule; a tie level on aggregate goes to extra time and then penalties. The final is a single match at a neutral venue.
Knockout ties appear here as soon as the draw is made.

Qualifying rounds
Clubs from lower-ranked leagues and domestic cup winners who miss automatic entry play a series of qualifying rounds through July and August, including a dedicated Conference League play-off round. The rest of the 36-club league phase is filled by clubs entering directly.
League phase
36 clubs, one table, six rounds from September/October to January — two fewer rounds than the Champions League and Europa League. Each club plays six different opponents, three at home and three away. No lettered groups.
Knockout phase play-offs
Clubs finishing 9th to 24th play a two-legged play-off in February for the eight remaining Round of 16 spots. Clubs finishing in the top eight are exempt.
Knockout rounds and final
Round of 16, quarterfinals and semifinals are all two-legged ties on aggregate, with extra time and penalties if needed. The final is a single match at a pre-selected neutral venue, played in late May.

The story so far
No club has retained the UEFA Conference League, and none has won it twice: all five editions have been won by a different club. Roma won the first final in 2022, West Ham United won it in 2023, Olympiacos in 2024, Chelsea in 2025, and Crystal Palace are the reigning champions after beating Rayo Vallecano 1-0 in the 2026 final at Red Bull Arena in Leipzig in front of 39,176 fans.
Launched in 2021/22 as UEFA’s third club competition, below the Champions League and Europa League, the Conference League adopted the same 36-club single-table "league phase" reform as the other two competitions from 2024/25, though it plays six league-phase rounds rather than eight.

When does the 2026/27 Conference League season start?
