About Rayo Vallecano
Rayo Vallecano were founded in 1924 in Vallecas, a working-class district in south-east Madrid. They play at the small Estadio de Vallecas, one of the most intimate grounds in La Liga, in a white shirt with a red diagonal sash, which gives them the nickname Los Franjirrojos.
The club’s proudest European moments are the UEFA Cup quarter-finals in 1999/2000 and a run to the UEFA Conference League final in 2025/26, where they lost to Crystal Palace.
