About Valencia CF

Valencia CF were founded in 1919 and play at the Mestalla, which opened in 1923 and is one of the oldest stadiums in Spain. The club is known as Los Che, after a Valencian word used in everyday speech, and as Los Murciélagos, the bats, after the bat on the club crest.

Valencia have won six La Liga titles and eight Copa del Rey trophies. Their golden era came in the early 2000s, with league titles in 2001/02 and 2003/04 and the UEFA Cup in 2004, as well as back-to-back Champions League finals in 2000 and 2001, which they lost to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
