About Hull City

Hull City were founded in 1904 and spent most of their history in the lower divisions. The club played at Boothferry Park from 1946 until 2002, when it moved to a new stadium in West Park, now called the MKM Stadium.

Hull reached the top flight for the first time in 2008, winning promotion through the Championship play-off final at Wembley thanks to a goal from Dean Windass. They returned in 2013 and 2016, played in the 2014 FA Cup final against Arsenal, qualified for the Europa League in 2014/15, and came up through the play-offs again in 2026.

Hull play in amber and black stripes, and the club’s nickname, the Tigers, comes from those colours. Hull is also a rugby league city, home to Hull FC and Hull Kingston Rovers, which gives the football club a distinct local identity.
